Compare and contrast living at home and in the dormitory (version one)

/There are many differences between living at home and living in the dormitory. Though I have never lived in the dormitory, but many of my friends told me the things about they lived in the dormitory. I think remarkable difference between living at home and in the dormitory is you should do everything by yourself. Owing to we live at home since we was born, we were used to be arranged everything by parents. We shouldn't worry about how to prepare our diet. Parents would protect us not to be harm and give us a lot of care. Adversely, living in the dormitory unlike living in the home, you should do everything by yourself. Things like clean your room and wash dirty clothes…etc. Maybe these things are very cumbersome, but it can train us to be independent on the other hand. When you live in the dormitory, you can know every kind of roommates. It seems to be interesting to make friends. You can found distinctive character from them. For example, people who come from south Taiwan are friendly and they speak Taiwanese fluently. On the contrary, you should tolerate dissimilar life style and you don't have personal space to do the things you like to. For instance, some people are used to go to bed late, they like to do things in the midnight. Some people will be crazy when they can't sleep enough.

Living at home and living in the dormitory have each advantage and disadvantage. Maybe you can choose one good for you to enjoy your life.

I really can't agree with you more. Yah, you really have to do everything you have to do by yourself. Once you live in the dorm, it means you can't no longer rely on your parents for help.
I think it's a good chance to realize your life. To be more independent can help you to do things well in the future.

But do you know, before I graduate from junior high, although I lived at home, I still had to prepare dinner for myself, because my parents both had a job. They couldn't come home early. But I'm really hungry. ha. So I usually ate outside.

So, I really think living in a dorm is very interesting than living at home.

Which one do you like more?^^

Hi Meigo~

Your composition is really similar to mine. I hvae never lived in a dorm too. All the things I wrote is the things I heard from other people. We share a lot of commons. You think that living in a dorm means you have to do everything by yourself. And that is the biggest difference.

Also you can meet all kinds of roommates. You can learn different cultures too. Like people from south think differently compare to people living in north city. I think it is a good experience too.
Knowing friends from different places is wonderfull thing.

How about living with your families? Do you think that is a big difference?

You mentioned they both have advantages and disvantages, can you tell more details about it?

If you have a chance to live in a dorm, would you try it?
