2. A lot of English words can combine to have different meanings.
a. The example of the word "work" and verb-and-preposition combination " to work out"
B. Another difficulty for foreigners is pronunciation.
1. Some words appear to be same, but different pronuncitaions have different meanings.
a. The word "conduct" has two different meanings depending on the pronunciation.
2. To understand an American also depend on his or hers accent.
a. There are different accents between northerers and southerners.
C. Some technical terms and phrases doesn't exist in their own country.
Conclusion:Many foreign students found that learning English is the hardest part of college life.
